Dance of Light at Sunrise The Yomiuri Shimbun Fireflies fly around the outer moat of Nagoya Castle in Naka Ward, Nagoya on Wednesday, creating a fantastic sight after dark. The 1-centimetre-long insect, called Himebotaru, lives in the moat, according to the citizens’ group that keeps fireflies at the castle. They were seen a week earlier than normal, with at its peak more than 4,000 flashes in one night. They can be seen en masse until the end of this week. The image is a composite of two photos taken with an exposure time of 30 seconds.
