The Ministry of Transportation conducted an emergency on-site inspection of Japan Airlines facilities on Friday morning, following a series of incidents involving the company’s planes over the past seven years. months.
The investigation, conducted under the Aviation Law, focused on daily activities related to flight operations and safety management at corporate facilities near Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, including JAL’s safety promotion headquarters. The inspection follows another emergency investigation by the company in February.
“As a company, we take the series of unsafe incidents, as well as the fact that they led to the emergency investigation, very seriously,” a JAL official said after the investigation. “In light of the authorities’ guidance, we will make company-wide efforts to restore confidence in our business.”
