Gunma Hotel with All-You-Can-Read-Manga rooms; Goku, Luffy, Doraemon and more greet guests

TSUMAGOI, Gunma — Guests at this hotel can spend all night reading and barely scratch the surface of the manga collection in their room.

Approximately 2,000 volumes from 74 titles – from manga classics like ‘Doraemon’, ‘Fist of the North Star’ and ‘Dragon Ball’ to modern favorites like ‘One Piece’ and ‘Kingdom’ – greet guests staying in two special ‘Comic Rooms’ ” at the Manza Prince Hotel in Tsumagoi, Gunma Prefecture. Five enormous bookcases, chock full of manga, adorn the walls of the rooms.

According to the resort hotel, some guests feel they cannot stay in the rooms for just one night.

The Comic Rooms are the brainchild of manga-loving employees after the hotel solicited ideas to offer guests innovative ways to pass the time between check-in and dinner.

“We hope our guests will enjoy immersing themselves in manga and the hot spring,” said a hotel official.

The special rooms are available until the end of May.
