North Korea on Sunday accused the United States and South Korea of increasing aerial spying around the peninsula and warned it would take “immediate action” if its sovereignty was violated.
America deployed dozens of military aircraft “from May 13 to 24 for aerial espionage against the DPRK,” the North’s Deputy Defense Minister Kim Kang Il said in a statement, referring to his country by its official name.
The espionage activities observed during the 12 days were “at a level beyond the war situation,” he said in the statement, which was distributed by the official Korean Central News Agency.
