Toyota is extending the reemployment age to 70 years from August

TOKYOMay 9 (News On Japan) – Toyota Motor Corporation will expand its relocation policy for seniors up to the age of 70 starting in August.

According to Toyota, the company will expand its senior reemployment system to all types of jobs starting in August, allowing those over the age of 65 to continue working.

Currently, the retirement age at Toyota is 60, with reemployment for seniors typically limited to 65. To date, exceptionally approximately 20 people have been employed beyond the age of 65.

From August, contracts will be renewed annually, based on the needs of the workplace, allowing reemployment up to the age of 70.

This move aims to leverage specialized knowledge and continue the development of younger workers, in response to ongoing labor shortages.
