YOKOHAMAMay 9 (News On Japan) – The 2024 Japan Truck Show is currently underway at Pacifico Yokohama, showcasing the latest technologies in a climate of logistical concerns, including driver shortages.
The event will feature so-called ‘swap body’ trucks that can be disconnected from their container sections, designed to increase transport efficiency.
It is also possible that these trucks will be approved for use on public roads in the future.
Another highlight is a trailer that doubles its loading capacity by lowering the floor to create a double-decker loading area.
In addition, a lightweight cargo area makes it possible to drive a new compact van, which can transport 50 kilograms more than before, with a standard driver’s license.
The event lasts until May 11.
