Bryson DeChambeau, who incited chants of “USA, USA!” En route to his US Open victory, he said on Monday he is frustrated he will not be competing in the Paris Olympics but accepts his move to LIV Golf ultimately cost him that opportunity.
DeChambeau, a fan favorite all week at the US Open where he finished one stroke ahead of Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy, does not earn any ranking points from his LIV Golf events and was thus ineligible for the US team.
“Hopefully one day this game of golf will be discovered and come back together and I’ll be able to play (in the Olympics),” world No. 10 DeChambeau said Monday during an appearance on the Pat McAfee show.
