Expert panel publishes interim report stating that ‘Profile of the initiator is useful’ as a measure against AI

The government on Tuesday released an interim report from an expert panel on generative artificial intelligence (AI) and the protection of intellectual property rights, including the opinion that “Originator Profile [OP]”, a digital technology that specifies the sender of information on the Internet, “is useful because it clarifies the origin of the content”, as a technical measure.

The report also states that “an ecosystem must be established in which advances in AI technology and appropriate protection of intellectual property rights are compatible.” It believed that an appropriate combination of laws, technologies and contracts should be used to tackle this problem.
