Japan rises to 31st place in the global digital competitiveness rankings

TOKYONovember 15 (News On Japan) – This year’s ‘Global Digital Competitiveness Ranking’ was released, ranking Japan 31st out of 67 countries and regions, up one position from last year.

The ranking assesses the adoption and use of digital technologies that drive transformations in government, business models and society.

The ranking is published annually by a Swiss business school and is based on statistical data and surveys among executives.

Singapore claimed the top spot this year, while South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Scandinavian countries such as Denmark, Sweden and Norway are also in the top 10. Meanwhile, Japan remained in 31st place.

While Japan was recognized for its robust technological frameworks and high higher education standards, it scored poorly in areas such as ‘business agility’ and ‘international experience among senior executives’, where it finished at the bottom.
