Japan’s next-generation H3 rocket unveiled

AICHIMar 24 (News about Japan– After the launch of the second unit of Japan’s H3 rocket from the Tanegashima Space Center in February, the successor was unveiled to the press on March 21 at the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries plant in Asuka Village, Aichi Prefecture.

What was revealed were the rocket’s first and second stages, which carry hydrogen and oxygen as fuel, measuring approximately 37 meters in length. At launch, the rocket, including the payload fairing that carries satellites and other payloads, will reach a total length of approximately 60 meters.

Masashi Okada, JAXA’s H3 Project Manager, stated: “We are working in hopes of making this rocket desirable for use by people around the world.”

The rocket was delivered to the Tanegashima Space Center on March 23, with launches planned for 2024 and beyond.
