Urawa Reds Ladies made not one, but two new additions to their trophy cabinet this weekend, emerging as Asian champions on Friday evening before results elsewhere confirmed a successful WE League title defense on Sunday.
The Saitama team were crowned continental champions on Friday when they came from behind to beat South Korea’s Hyundai Steel Red Angels in the final of the AFC Women’s Championship Cup in front of a crowd of 5,271 at Urawa Komaba Stadium.
