This friendly lady is new to life, but unfortunately she is an old hand when it comes to the upheavals that life can bring.
Born in 2011, the year of one of modern Japan’s greatest crises, Mascara is 13 years old – not old but no longer young. More recently, she lost her home when her elderly owner moved into an assisted living facility, and a loving, caring relationship came to an abrupt end.
Mascara was timid and very nervous when she came to ARK, but she has since regained her confidence and will call and welcome anyone who passes by. She starts purring when someone comes near, so we know she likes being around people. She will sometimes even turn around and show her stomach – proof that deep down. Mascara is a sweetheart.
Despite the hardships she has overcome (and perhaps because of them), Mascara really needs a home where she can enjoy her golden years. She will make a grateful companion and return the favor with lots of gentle, loving purrs.
