Since Russia’s large-scale invasion, hundreds of Ukrainian companies have emerged making weapons and military equipment, but some are struggling to finance production and all are concerned that they will become targets as Russian missile attacks intensify.
Owners say they have pumped in their own money to survive and moved locations at their own expense to stay ahead of Russian intelligence services. They are now urging the government to cut what they describe as excessive red tape surrounding its arms purchases.
Several countries also want to be allowed to export, arguing that the government cannot buy all their production.
