Despite World Aquatics’ bold move to allow men to compete in artistic swimming at the Olympics, there will be no male swimmers among 10 countries at the team event in Paris after the United States left pioneer Bill May out of its roster.
World Aquatics said it was very disappointed that no men would participate in the Olympic competition.
โThis should have been a milestone for the sport,โ the global federation said in a statement. โWe understand that it was always going to be a challenge for men to secure a place on a team in time for Paris 2024, given that their eligibility was only confirmed 18 months ago, but we were still hopeful that some would succeed .”
