Prime Minister Fumio Kishida sent a video message to a gathering of people in favor of constitutional revision in Tokyo on Friday, Japan’s Constitution Day.

Proposing a draft constitutional amendment that would be put to a national referendum, Kishida, who is also chairman of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, said in the message: โ€œIt is the responsibility of politics to present options to the people of this country because amending the Constitution is becoming an urgent and important issue.โ€
