Vladimir Putin will visit China on Thursday and Friday for talks with leader Xi Jinping, the Kremlin said on Tuesday, in the Russian president’s first foreign trip since his re-election in mid-March.
โAt the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to the People’s Republic of China on May 16 and 17, on his first foreign trip since taking office,โ the Kremlin said in a statement.
The two leaders โwill discuss in detail the whole range of issues of their comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation, identify the main directions for further development of Russian-Chinese practical cooperation, and also thoroughly exchange views on the most urgent international and regional issues.โ the Kremlin said, adding that Putin and Xi would issue a joint statement after their talks.
