The very striking Truffle quickly found a home after being featured here last October. He now lives in Kawagone, Saitama Prefecture, with Yumi Oshida, who lost her previous dog two years ago. Despite the hardships of losing a pet, it didn’t take long before Oshida began wondering whether she should open her home to another furry companion.
“The house and garden felt very big and empty,” says Oshida. “But I was a little nervous about the responsibility of caring for a dog again.”
Fortunately, Oshida had met ARK founder Elizabeth Oliver about a decade ago and decided that commercial breeders were out of the question when she was ready to become an owner again.
