A woman and her three children were found dead with stab wounds after a fire at a house in Togoshi Ward of Tokyo’s Shinagawa Ward on Thursday.
Police received an emergency call around 1:30 p.m. from a woman in her 60s who said her relatives had died in their home and were covered in soot.
Police officers found Fuyumi Takanami, 37, and her two daughters and son — Rin Goto, 6, Rei Goto, 3, and Shin Goto, 2 — lying on the floor of a bedroom on the first floor of the two-story, multi-story home, according to research sources, they have stab wounds on their bodies, including the chest, neck and back. They were confirmed dead at the scene and believed to have died from blood loss.
