Panasonic Holdings Reveals Details of Osaka-Kansai Expo Pavilion; Company Aims to ‘Free the Senses’

The Panasonic Group pavilion, โ€œThe Land of Nomo,โ€ will be on display on Thursday.

OSAKA โ€” Panasonic Holdings Corp. on Thursday announced details of its pavilion for the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025.

โ€œThe Nomo Forestโ€ and โ€œThe Valley of the Ancient Treesโ€ are among the four interactive zones that make up the pavilion, which is called โ€œThe Land of Nomoโ€.

The pavilion uses audiovisual technologies, the company’s strengths, and offers experiences that allow children to become aware of the hidden potential of their senses.

Wandering in a mysterious world where the mind is exposed โ€” that is the concept of the story told in the pavilion. Each visitor will explore the pavilion with the help of a “crystal” โ€” a device with an electronic tag that, together with cameras in the pavilion, records the movements of each visitor. The recording will then be analyzed and a story that reflects the individuality and characteristics of the visitor will be shown on a large screen.

โ€œI want children to experience the moment when their feelings and senses are released,โ€ said Michiko Ogawa, director of EXPO Promotion at Panasonic Holdings.

The structure of the pavilion, which was completed in August, was unveiled to the media on Thursday. Further construction will add films to the ring-shaped frames around the building and finalize the interior, including in the technology exhibition area. The company aims to complete the entire project by February next year.

Panasonic Holdings plans to accept the first round of reservations โ€” for about 16,000 visitors โ€” from Sept. 25 to Oct. 6. Reservations will only be available to those who purchased Super Early-bird tickets to the Expo, which can be purchased at a discount until Oct. 6.
