Toyota Motor Corp. announced Friday that after reviewing the model certification process required for mass production, it found no new cases of misconduct beyond the seven vehicle models already announced. The report was submitted to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism the same day.
On June 3, Toyota announced that misconduct had occurred regarding the internal use of development data in certification tests for a total of seven models, including the popular Yaris Cross, leading to the suspension of production of three models. The company aimed to complete the results of its internal investigation by the end of June.
Regarding the three models whose production has been halted, Toyota said it is considering resuming production once the ministry confirms that they meet the standards.
