There is a “high probability” that Kiev’s main children’s hospital was directly hit by a Russian missile during a series of airstrikes on Ukrainian cities, a UN human rights mission said on Tuesday. The Kremlin continues to deny involvement.
Ukraine has flown its flag at half-mast in memory of the 44 people killed in airstrikes in the country on Monday, including four children and two people at the Ohmatdyt Children’s Hospital in the capital.
“Analysis of the video footage and an assessment made at the scene of the incident indicate that it is highly likely that the children’s hospital was directly hit and not damaged by an intercepted weapon system,” said Danielle Bell, head of the UN human rights mission in Ukraine.
