TOKYOJul 17 (News On Japan) – Panasonic Holdings plans to sell its commercial large-projector business to Orix for about 100 billion yen ($633 million). Panasonic’s commercial large-projector business was used during the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and is expected to be used during the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, which begin next week.
These projectors were also used in the projection mapping in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, which was recognized by the Guinness World Records.
According to sources, Panasonic has decided to sell this branch to Orix. The expected sale price is around 100 billion yen.
Panasonic plans to use the proceeds from the sale to invest in businesses that it expects to grow.
