TOKYOJul 19 (News On Japan) – The ‘Hajimete Challenge’ service is gaining popularity as a way to help children get started with their first grocery shopping. The service, provided by Tokyo-based video production company WAGAKOTO, involves filming and editing the grocery shopping experience, which is then sent to parents.
It is aimed at children aged 3 to 6, with prices starting at 19,800 yen. Exceptions for younger children are possible after consultation.
During the errand, the child is accompanied by a cameraman and a guardian to ensure safety. Participating parents appreciate the opportunity their children get to learn independence. The service is well coordinated with local shops and focuses on safety, with errands lasting no longer than 30 minutes.
Parents often ask about potential problems, such as children crying before the message or seeing the camera. Clear communication and children focusing on the message helps alleviate these concerns. The service provides a safe way for children to experience new things and capture these moments as priceless family memories.
