NTT West ends ‘Town Page’

OSAKAJul 23 (News On Japan) – NTT West has announced that it will discontinue its ‘Town Page’ telephone directory and ‘104’ telephone information service in March 2026.

The Town Page, first published by the NTT in 1890 as the Telephone Subscriber Directory, has been a trusted source for over 130 years, known for its yellow cover and used to look up telephone numbers by name and address.

The ‘104’ service, which provides telephone number information for individuals and businesses for a fee, was also widely used. However, with the increased awareness of privacy of personal information and the spread of the Internet, the number of users has declined, leading to the decision to discontinue both services.

Although ‘Town Page’ and ‘104’ will be discontinued in March 2026, the Braille telephone directory and the web version ‘iTown Page’ will continue to exist.
