WakayamaAugust 26 (News about Japan) – A small privately owned rocket named “Kairos,” which exploded five seconds after launch in March, is now set to make another attempt in December from a site in Kushimoto Town, Wakayama Prefecture.
Space One, the company behind the launch, said the failure was caused by the rocket’s lower-than-expected thrust, preventing it from reaching the desired speed.
Endo Mamoru, Space One director, explained: “The rocket could not reach the required velocity and position, which led to an automatic flight abort and self-destruct, preventing the mission from being completed.”
Space One has identified the cause of the failure and is now preparing for a second launch, scheduled for December from the same launch site in Kushimoto.
