In the fight against doping at the Paris Olympics, the International Testing Agency (ITA) wants to deploy a streamlined, advanced approach to identify and tackle potential cheaters.
Benjamin Cohen, director general of the ITA, said the potential tools at its disposal include biological passports and performance passports, in addition to a wealth of other data.
Improved software, possibly using artificial intelligence, could also help; a whistleblower investigation unit has made progress, and closer cooperation with sports organizations and the police has paid off.
