Barbora Krejcikova came back with a strong and resilient comeback to reach her first Wimbledon final on Thursday, showing unwavering resistance against Elena Rybakina’s attacking barrage to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
At times, Krejcikova looked like a drunken boxer as she reeled under the 2022 champion’s relentless blows. But she pulled herself together and turned the match on its head, setting up a showdown with Italy’s seventh-seeded Jasmine Paolini in Saturday’s final.
Paolini defeated Croatia’s Donna Vekic 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) in the previous semi-final.
