US President Joe Biden on Friday tried to defuse the political crisis that has been sparked by his poor debate performance. In an interview with ABC News, he reiterated that he had had a bad night and told voters that he promised to fight on in the 2024 race despite calls to step aside.
Biden recorded an interview with ABC after telling a crowd in a fiery speech in Madison, Wisconsin, that some Democrats were trying to push him out of the race after his debate with Republican Donald Trump.
Biden cited a “really bad cold” as the reason for his poor performance during the debate and that he was exhausted after two trips to Europe.
