Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi expresses condolences for the deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and other officials

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi today expressed his condolences for the deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and other officials who were killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday.

“I can’t help but be deeply saddened by the sudden news,” Hayashi, who said he met Raisi and Amirabdollahian in person, said at a news conference Monday. “I would like to express my sincere condolences to the Iranian government, the country’s citizens and the relatives of the deceased.”
