Early dissolution of the House of Commons is unlikely after another loss in the LDP elections

The view that it will be difficult for Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to dissolve the House of Representatives for a general election during the current session of parliament is spreading within his ruling Liberal Democratic Party, which suffered another election defeat on Sunday.

โ€œWe will fully analyze the results of the Shizuoka Prefecture gubernatorial election,โ€ Kishida said on Monday.

Regarding a possible dissolution of the House of Representatives: โ€œwe are doing our best to achieve results by focusing on political reforms and issues that cannot be postponed. โ€ฆ I am not considering anything else,โ€ the prime minister said.
