Emperor Naruhito expresses hope for lasting ties between Japan and Great Britain

Emperor Naruhito expressed hope for “a lasting relationship based on friendship” between Japan and Britain on Tuesday in a speech at a state banquet hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

โ€œIt is my sincere hope that both Japan and Britain will continue to make tireless efforts towards genuine mutual understanding through exchanges between their peoples, building a lasting relationship based on friendship, goodwill and cooperation,โ€ said the emperor in English. during the banquet at Buckingham Palace in London, which was also attended by Empress Masako.

The event was attended by around 170 people, including Prince William, Prince Edward and other members of the Royal Family, as well as people who were not part of the Royal Family. The Emperor wore the Most Noble Order of the Garter, which was awarded to him that day, while the Empress wore a tiara and evening gown.
