TOKYOJul 16 (News On Japan) – FamilyMart, a leading convenience store chain, will implement a daylight saving time schedule for its headquarters employees starting July 16. The initiative will advance both the start and end of the workday by one hour, promoting energy conservation and work style reforms.
The Daylight Savings Time schedule applies to employees working at FamilyMart’s headquarters and those involved in supporting store operations. Under this plan, the workday begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m., one hour earlier than normal.
This schedule is valid from tomorrow until September 15 and covers a period of two months.
FamilyMart has been implementing Daylight Saving Time for two years now and the change has resulted in an approximately 10% reduction in electricity consumption at the headquarters, as less time is spent on lights and air conditioning.
In addition, advancing the end time frees up employees to spend more time on self-improvement and other activities, allowing them to use their time more effectively.
