Golf’s No. 1 Scottie Scheffler arrives in Valhalla for the PGA Championship

Top-ranked Scottie Scheffler arrived in Valhalla Monday afternoon and began practicing for the 106th PGA Championship, seeking his third major title and fifth victory in six starts.

The 27-year-old American has been idle for the past three weeks as his wife Meredith prepared for the birth of their first child, whose arrival set the stage for Scheffler to compete for the Wanamaker Trophy.

Scheffler, who captured his second Masters title last month, has won four of his past five starts, with only a defeat in the Houston Open playoffs keeping him from a perfect stretch that included Bay Hill, The Players Championship, the Masters and the Heritage.
