Well-functioning containers equipped with toilets, showers, power generators and water purification systems are proving invaluable in areas affected by the January 1 Noto Peninsula earthquake.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is advocating the use of these containers to increase the emergency response capabilities of roadside stations, due to their versatility and ease of installation.
A container toilet installed on January 12 at the roadside station in Anamizu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, features a microbial purification system and solar energy generation.
