Hokkaido man arrested for scamming ‘fiancee’ with fake kidnapping plan

Tokyo police have arrested a 45-year-old man from Hakodate city, Hokkaido, on suspicion of attempting to defraud a woman in her 30s, whom he had promised to marry, by claiming he had been kidnapped to extort money. to squeeze.

The suspect, Yuichi Nishimura, allegedly seduced the victim with promises of marriage while concealing the fact that he was already married.
