The Environment Ministry will launch a pilot program to form partnerships with hotel operators in national parks as part of efforts to increase the value of such parks.
The ministry is considering entering into such partnerships with about five hotel operators who are active in preserving the environment and contributing to local communities.
These partner hotels receive preferential treatment when applying for subsidized projects. The ministry hopes to use these model cases as an example for other hotels.
The partnership program aims to promote nature tourism to meet the diverse needs of travelers, including foreign tourists.
The ministry plans to start the program around September. There are approximately 2,000 hotels in national parks across the country.
