A revision of the law on the handling of political funds will be voted on by the House of Representatives on Tuesday after another committee session.
Ruling and opposition parties agreed on Monday morning to vote on the revisions on Tuesday. On Friday, the Liberal Democratic Party, its junior coalition partner Komeito and opposition party Nippon Ishin no Kai reached an agreement on the reforms after the LDP offered compromises in an attempt to speed up parliamentary debate.
Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will participate in the questioning during the political funds committee hearing, a condition set by the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan (CDP) in agreeing to an early vote.
