First, there’s the small matter that in the great history of North American sports, only one team has achieved this feat in a championship: the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs. That group overcame a 3-0 deficit against the Detroit Red Wings with the Stanley Cup Final.
By beating the Florida Panthers 5-1 on Friday, the Oilers joined the 1945 Maple Leafs as the only three teams to force even a Game 7 after falling behind 3-0 in the Stanley Cup Final .
