The new Minister of Economic Revitalization, Ryosei Akazawa, said he is keen to step up efforts to transform Japan into a growth-oriented economy and completely eliminate deflation.
In a recent interview with the media, he also underlined his determination to achieve the government’s goal of raising the weighted average of minimum wages nationwide to ยฅ1,500 per hour in the 2020s.
In Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba’s government, which started on October 1, Akazawa also serves as minister of economic and fiscal policy and minister responsible for preparations for the establishment of a disaster management agency.
