A study of social media use among high school students in Japan, China, South Korea and the United States published Tuesday found that Japanese high school students use social media mainly for hobbies and occasionally to make friends.
The research was conducted by the National Institute for Youth Education collected responses from over 15,000 secondary school students from the four countries between September and January.
