PARIS โ€“ New uniforms for Japan’s national football teams were unveiled Friday during Paris Fashion Week.

Both men’s and women’s teams will participate in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. Team members walked the catwalk like models in their uniforms.

The uniforms were designed by Y-3, a brand created by Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas.

The theme of the design is ‘fire’. The base color of the home games kit is dark blue and depicts small flames gathering to form a large pillar of fire, expressing the strength of the team. The away kit has a red flame on a white base.

The two players walking the catwalk were Joel Chima Fujita, a member of the under-23 men’s national team, and Fuka Nagano, a member of the women’s national team, known as Nadeshiko Japan.

Fujita said: “When I wore the new uniforms, I really felt like the Olympic Games were about to start.”
