Japan’s NTT launches AI business to support AI across industries; NTT AI-CIX helps enterprises build data infrastructure

NTT Corp. will launch a business that integrates AI systems across industries and operations to support the digital transformation of enterprises.

NTT AI-CIX (AI-Cross Industry Transformation) Inc. will officially launch on Monday with a revenue target of approximately ¥10 billion in fiscal 2030.

The new company’s services include supporting businesses by introducing AI and building data infrastructure. The company is deploying multiple AI systems outside of a single industry, as the use of business and industry-specific AI increases.

For example, a network of AI systems for manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers could enable manufacturers to adjust their production based on demand in stores. Such a service is expected to improve the efficiency of the entire supply chain while reducing excess inventory.

“We enable multiple industries to share information between their AI systems with the aim of saving energy and labor”Ippei Shake, who will assume the position of president of NTT AI-CIX, said at a press conference on Friday.
