Bandai Namco Holdings has said it will display a life-size Gundam robot model in its pavilion at the 2025 World Expo in Osaka city.
It will be the first public exhibition of a full-scale model of the robot hero from the anime series “Mobile Suit Gundam” in the Kansai region, according to the toy and video game company’s announcement Wednesday.
The life-size Gundam, approximately 17 meters tall, will be displayed in a kneeling position with one knee raised and the right arm extended upwards, symbolizing the desire to reach the universe and the future.
The statue will be exhibited next to the pavilion from April 13 to October 13, 2025. It will be built largely with recycled materials from the Moving Gundam, which was on display in Yokohama until March this year. However, the life-size Gundam at the Expo will not be moved.
Bandai Namco explained that the pavilion will be one where visitors can enjoy the worldview of the Gundam series. Details of the pavilion will be announced later.
