American competitive eating legend Joey Chestnut will face fierce rival Takeru Kobayashi in a hot dog eating competition in a new event broadcast live on Netflix, the streamer said on Wednesday.
The announcement comes a day after the esoteric world of speed-eating competitions was rocked by news that Chestnut had been banned from a popular New York event known as Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest.
It’s unlikely that hot dog hero Chestnut was banned from that competition after supporting a plant-based meat company, but immediately promised his fans via social media that “you’ll see me eating again soon!!”
