New cruise terminal opened in Osaka

OSAKAMay 3 (News On Japan) – A new cruise ship terminal has been completed in Osaka’s Tempozan and was unveiled to the press on May 2.

Located in Tempozan’s Minato district, the newly completed cruise terminal is a three-story building with an interior design inspired by sandy beaches and ship sails.

There was originally a terminal at this location, but due to aging and the limited space available for customs and immigration processing, the Osaka prefectural and city governments invested approximately 2.6 billion yen in its reconstruction. The new branch is now twice as large as the old one.

Journalist Akari Fuse reported: “This area serves as a customs area, designed to comfortably accommodate various numbers of passengers, providing ample space to carry out procedures.”

The terminal is located near the Osakako Station of the Osaka Metro, providing easy access to bustling shopping areas and tourist attractions. On May 5, Children’s Day, a ceremony will take place to celebrate the opening.
