Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department has launched an investigation Monday in the political group Tsubasa no To for alleged campaign obstruction activities during the April 28 House of Commons midterm elections in Tokyo.
MPD investigators raided the party’s headquarters in Tokyo’s Chiyoda Ward, as well as the homes of party leader Atsuhiko Kurokawa and General Secretary Ryosuke Nemoto.
The group is suspected of interfering with the campaign activities of by-election candidates in Tokyo District No. 15 โ which corresponds to the city’s southeastern Koto Ward โ in violation of election law.
