Police in Shiga Prefecture have arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of murdering his 60-year-old probation officer last month.
Kohei Iitsuka, 35, from the prefecture’s Otsu city, had been placed on probation after a conviction for a convenience store robbery. He was under the supervision of Hiroshi Shinjo, a 60-year-old restaurant owner and probation officer.
Iitsuka was arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing Shinjo by repeatedly stabbing him in the upper body at his city home sometime between 7pm on May 24 and 4pm on May 26. was sent to the prosecutor on Monday.
