PARIS (AP) — Simone Biles shone again as she won gold in the women’s all-around gymnastics event at the Paris Olympics, becoming the oldest woman to accomplish the feat since 1952.

Biles, 27, swept her floor exercise, beating Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade by 1,199 points in one of the closest victories of her decorated career. She became the first woman to win gold in the all-around gymnastics at non-consecutive Olympic Games, having done so at the 2016 Rio Games.

“I’ve never had an athlete this close,” Biles said. “It brought out the best athlete in me.”

It was Biles’ sixth Olympic gold medal, the most of any American gymnast; she won her fifth in the team competition earlier in the week. Teammate Sunisa Lee, the reigning all-around champion from Tokyo, was third for bronze.
