TOKYOApril 20 (News On Japan) – NTT Docomo is set to revolutionize mobile payments with the introduction of a stylish, simply designed ring that allows users to make payments by simply waving it over a terminal.
This ring-shaped payment device is equipped with an IC chip and is compatible with Visa’s contactless payment technology. Docomo has announced that the smart ring will be available at select Docomo stores from early next month.
Customers can choose a plan that costs 550 yen per month, including taxes, or purchase the device outright starting at 19,800 yen, including taxes.
The ring can be used in supermarkets and convenience stores and does not require charging. There are also plans to make the device usable in public transport in the future.
