Driven by fears of Donald Trump’s possible return to the White House, the administration of US President Joe Biden and its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region are rushing to implement a series of defense initiatives before the end of the years of “Trump-proofing” in an effort to make any rollback a difficult proposition.
Efforts to industrialize the numerous bilateral and multilateral ties that Trump’s election rival has forged over the past three and a half years are already well underway, with nervous allies welcoming closer ties with open arms amid an increasingly fraught international security environment.
